Too busy for training?

Can’t fit upskilling around your nine to five?

To help busy trainee gas installers fit our Managed Learning Programme (MLP) around their jobs and lives we have introduced weekend and evening courses!

Involving a mix of classroom, practical and on-the-job experience (which we provide), the MLP is an intense, fast-track route to becoming a gas installer, which some candidates might find hard to find time for. We have learners upskilling within their current role, and also complete career changers who might need to juggle their existing job with ambitions to make it as a gas engineer.

Same Viva excellence, just at a time to suit you!

To help spread the burden, our weekend and evening courses cover the in-centre part of the MLP – theory and practical training in our purpose built classrooms. You’ll get the usual Viva standard – ex-British Gas trainers, the latest equipment, including Worcester Bosch boilers, and support every step of the way.

The portfolio element of the programme includes time spent on site doing ‘real’ work experience. We can’t offer this element in the evenings or at weekends, but as many candidates go on to get a job as a result of this process – we’ve recently secured work for 14 of our learners – it’s worth putting the effort in. It’s getting to the point where Viva is being asked to fill job vacancies!

While we can’t guarantee a job at the end of it, completing an MLP with us is definitely a very big step in the right direction. The qualification we offer is from industry-leading Awarding Organisation, LCL Awards; combined with the experience we have within Viva and a focus on business success as well as practical skill, we pride ourselves in sending candidates off into the world with the best possible grounding in gas safety, and the tools to achieve their career ambitions.
