Gas ACS Reassessment Course

We offer multiple ACS courses. Our accredited ACS reassessment is for existing Gas Safe Registered installers who must renew their qualifications up to 11 months after expiry. If you have expired for over 12 months, you must take the ACS Initial Assessment. Reassessment must occur every five years for these qualifications to remain valid, and you can take your reassessment up to 6 months before expiry.

The ACS Reassessment course covers CCN1 (gas safety) plus four other optional appliances.

CENWAT: Central Heating Boilers & Water Heaters
CKR1: Cookers
HTR1: Space Heaters (including Gas Fires and Wall Heaters)
MET 1: Meters

Five years is long, and even the most experienced gas engineer might feel a little rusty. We include free refresher training for candidates who want a recap on the theoretical part of the ACS assessment.

What does ACS Reassessment entail?

Whether initial or reassessment, ACS assessment is broken down into two parts – theoretical and practical examinations.

The theory-based section is an ‘open book’ question paper; you will also have access to British Standards, IGEM Standards, Technical bulletins, and any other relevant documentation that can be used as references along with the training manual.

Practical examinations are completed in VIVA’s purpose-built ACS training bays.

Benefits of ACS

This course is exclusively designed to keep your ACS Certificate up to date. The benefit of this is you can continue to trade and renew your Gas Safe Registration.

ACS Requirements & Qualifications

You must provide your previous ACS Certificate which shows your appliance qualification code and expiry date. Upon successful completion of the course, you will be able to renew your gas safe registration and trade.

ACS Reassessment Location

This Course is based in our Halifax Training centre located close to the M62 with great access from all over the country.

Our purpose built centre offers state of the art classrooms and workshops where you can demonstrate your practical knowledge. Our facilities have a range of gas appliances where the practical assessments take place.
