Employed Commercial Gas Engineer earn from £35,000 – £75,000 – Self Employed Commercial Gas Engineers Earn can earn up to £150,000 per annum.

Employed Domestic gas engineers From £27,500 – £65,000 – Employed Commercial Gas Engineer earn from £35,000 – £75,000 – Self Employed Gas Engineers earn up to £120k per annum.
Plumbers used to carry out both wet work and gas work. In recent times Plumbing (Wet Work) and Gas Engineering (Gas Work) have been split and are now two separate trades. To be a plumber no formal qualification is required however for Gas Work a formal gas engineering qualification and gas safe registration are compulsory before carry out gas work. Most Gas Engineers are capable and experienced to carry out plumbing work.
Only if you can prove you are competent to do so, you could prove you are competent to do so by being registered with an approved scheme, the gas safe register is a suitable approved scheme.

To be accepted for a gas engineering apprenticeship a minimum of 4 GCSE’s are required Grade 5 or above. The required subjects are Maths & English and two relevant subjects such as Science, Engineering or Design and Technology
