Heat pumps for housing associations

Air source heat pumps (ASHPs) are the best solution for housing associations looking to upgrade housing stock from oil boilers or night storage heaters to a low-carbon alternative.

Alongside energy efficiency improvements to the fabric of the building, ASHP systems result in warmer homes for tenants, lower energy bills and a reduction in carbon emissions.

Energy Company Obligation (ECO) scheme funding for social landlords

Social housing providers can access funding from the ECO scheme to deliver energy efficiency measures for tenants living in the worst performing homes, typically those with an EPC rating of D or below.

ECO funding can be used for measures including insulation and first-time central heating systems, replacing night storage heaters, for example, in social housing developments that are not connected to the gas grid with renewable alternatives, such as heat pumps.
