Why train to install air source heat pumps?

Britain’s commitment to reduce carbon emissions calls for a huge increase in the number of air source heat pump installations across the UK. Figures in a recent report from the Committee on Climate Change estimate that 19 million heat pumps will need to be installed by 2050 if we’re to meet our Net Zero target.

To put it another way, current Air Source Heat Pump (ASHP) installations, which number around 30,000 units a year will have to rise to 600,000 a year. That’s some figure!

Air source heat pump course details

The course, will give you a thorough understanding of heat pump technologies and the health and safety risks associated with them. You will learn all you need to know about the installation, commissioning and hand over of air source heat pumps as well as the maintenance requirements for inspecting and servicing them in the future. There will also be instruction on diagnostic fault finding and repair.

Our fully kitted workshop will give you access to various air source heat pump appliances, so that you can practice the theory you’ve learnt on real units.

Pre-requisites for ASHP training

Because of the technical nature of this course, learners must hold at lease a Level 2/3 plumbing or heating qualification before they start. In addition to this, they must also have current certification in Water Regulations (WRAS).
