Viva Training|Heating, Refrigeration & New Entrants Gas Courses
ACS training, initial assessment & reassessment
This five-day course covers Core Domestic Gas Safety (CCN1)
ACS training and assessment is a necessary requirement of being Gas Safe Registered – all gas installers must be Gas Safe Registered by law.
We offer Gas ACS training and initial assessment for gas installers whose CCN1 has lapsed for more than 12 months and ACS reassessment for existing Gas Safe Registered installers who need to renew their qualifications. Reassessment must take place every five years in order for these qualifications to remain valid.
The ACS courses cover CCN1 (gas safety) plus four other optional appliances.
This five-day course covers Core Domestic Gas Safety (CCN1), plus four appliances. Practical and theory training is followed by an assessment.
ACS reassessment must include CCN1 plus any other appliances that you work on. The duration depends on how many appliance modules you take, and whether you require refresher training. Normally, there is around ½ a day’s training per appliance.
Five years is a long time and even the most experienced gas engineer might feel a little rusty. We offer optional refresher training for candidates who want to recap on the theoretical part of the ACS reassessment.
Whether initial, or reassessment, ACS training is broken down into two parts – theoretical and practical examinations.
The theory-based section is an ‘open book’ question paper, you will also have access to British Standards that can be used as references along with the training manual.
Practical examinations are completed in Viva’s purpose-built ACS training bays.
What do I need to bring?
All tools and materials needed for the practical examination are included within the price. We will provide everything you need to complete your ACS training.
Did you know you can take your ACS reassessment up to six months in advance of its expiry date? You don’t have to renew all of your appliances in one go, either – as long as they are completed by the deadline, you can stagger reassessment.
